In this class we will study supply and demand, macroeconomic principles of gross national product, government spending and deficits and monetary policy. Areas of study in microeconomics will include the market system, scarcity, and unemployment.

Under our legal system, everyone has both rights and responsibilities. It is important that students know and understand them so they may enjoy freedoms under the law and avoid problems that arise from misunderstanding or breaking laws. The course will begin with an introduction to the origin of our legal system. We will study various aspects of the law that may affect the student such as crimes, consumer law, family law and housing law. Class activities will include guest speakers from the legal profession, mock trials and other activities that will give students hands on experience with legal forms and documents. Class size is limited.

This course focuses on the events during the time periods of 1970, 1980, 1990, and today. Students will study the political, social, and global cultures that affected each decade. Each student can expect projects, presentations, guest speakers, debates and class discussions.

This course introduces to the students concepts such as roots of WWII, leaders, military advancements, important battles and much more. The course grade is derived from selected readings, class discussions.

This course is the scientific study of man's social relationships. The course will study the many and complex relationships, group life, institutions, and social interactions of our culture as well as those of other cultures both past and present. The course uses class projects, presentations, class discussion, and much more in the unique survey of cultures.

The course will focus on the National Government's three-branch system, American public policy, state and local governments, and a comparative study into other governments around the world. The course will include projects, guest speakers, in-class simulations, debates on public policy issues and much more.

Behavioral Studies is the study of humans: The way they act, think, and relate to each other. The subject matter of psychology is all about you-how you think, feel, react, learn, remember, perceive, and develop as a human being. In class, students will examine topics such as personality development; heredity vx. Environment; nurture vs. nature; memory; classical conditioning; operant conditioning; psychological disorders; defense mechanisms; and communication. This course involves IMC research, quarterly book reports, in-class discussion, and development and expression of personal viewpoints.
