Message from the Principal

Hello Cameron High School Comets!

Cameron High School is dedicated to providing a safe, compassionate environment for nurturing the growth and learning of all students.  As principal, I support our staff in delivering quality instruction and a variety of opportunities for students as they develop plans for their futures.  Every student deserves our best!  The best education, the best opportunities, the best preparation for future success.

For the 2023-24 school year, we will continue to exhibit our Comet values: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe!  And we will display those qualities by focusing on Academics, Behavior, and Attendance.  We will focus on academics by making sure students are passing classes, and we will implement supports for those students who may struggle.  We will focus on behaviors by making sure students are safe and distractions are limited.  And we will focus on attendance by addressing absences in a timely manner and encouraging full day participation in school.

As your new principal at Cameron High School, I plan to work with staff and parents to meet the needs of our students.  I will also be reaching out for community help in providing real-world learning opportunities available locally.  And I will be working to empower students in determining their educational outcomes.  If you have questions or suggestions, please drop me an email or give me a call.

Let’s have an awesome year!

Go Comets!

Mark Rykal

High School Principal

The federal “No Child Left Behind Act of 2001” includes a provision that requires local school districts receiving federal assistance under the Act to provide, on request of military recruiters or an institution of higher education, access to secondary school students’ names, addressesand telephone listings. A secondary school student or the parent of the student may request that the student’s name, address, and telephone listing not be released to military recruiters or institutions of higher education without prior written approval. If you would like to make a request of this nature, please send a brief note to Cameron High School, 750 South First St. c/o John Meznarich.
