b_125_125_16777215_00_images_articles_referendum_esmodel.jpgThe Referendum Ad Hoc committee members would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude for your support. We are very excited about the opportunities this project is going to provide for both the District and community. Not only will we be moving into a new elementary school in September of 2015, but we will be able to provide substantially safer facilities for our students. The old elementary school has served us well for an unthinkable 100+ years and it is now time to move on.

Our new elementary will provide us with…

  • Approximately 90,000 sq. foot facility
  • Additional Pre-K program classroom areas
  • Natural light in every classroom
  • Increased areas for art and music education
  • Secure front entrance
  • Separate busing area for safe drop-off and pick-up
  • 9000 sq. foot gymnasium with stage/performance area
  • Five-section classroom arrangement for grades 1-3 and four-section for grade 4
  • Grade level bathrooms & break-out areas and student storage areas
  • Adequate areas for student services such as occupational and physical therapy
  • Second level walking track for student & community use
  • Access to a green roof area for instructional uses
  • Safe playground with an extensive amount of green space for recess and school activities
  • Safe student drop off areas for students being transported by parents

Our high school & middle school renovations will provide us with…

  • Approximately 18,500 sq. feet of additional classroom and storage space and 15,000 sq. feet of renovated/re-purposed space (HS)
  • New automotive and agriculture classroom areas (HS/MS use)
  • Secure front entrances at both buildings
  • Renovated science classrooms (HS)
  • Expanded woodshop (HS/MS use)
  • Increased art room space (HS)
  • Repurposed Family & Consumer Education classroom (HS/MS use)
  • New multi-use music room & wrestling room (HS/MS use)
  • Renovated space for weight room and fitness equipment (HS/MS use)
  • Improved green space for physical education and school activities (HS/MS use)
  • Additional restroom facilities (HS/MS use)
  • Increased shipping & receiving space with garage space for school vehicles (District use)
  • Increased storage space (HS)

Both the track and football field will be made of synthetic/all-purpose materials and will be used throughout the school year for the following:

  1. Middle School & High School PE classes.
  2. Football practice/games
  3. Track & field practice/meets
  4. Spring baseball, softball & golf practices
  5. Band practice/performances
  6. Student assemblies/activities
  7. Graduation ceremony/community events

Projected completion dates:

New Elementary School – September 2015
HS/MS renovations – January 2015
Softball field & baseball field – Summer 2015
Football field/track – September 2014 (weather permitting)

Skyward Information Verification

Skyward Info Verification

Skyward Skylert Setup

With our winter weather fast approaching, it is important for families to have information up to date in Skyward Family Access to get notification of school closings. The Cameron School District will be using the Skylert/School Messenger which is tied to the Family Access/Skyward student database. This messaging system allows the District to quickly send out notifications in an emergency situation, school closing and reminders from individual schools. The following simple steps are required for you to receive the notifications the way you want to receive them.

Go to www.cameron.k12.wi.us . Select “Parents” from the top menu bar and then select “Skyward.” Families received log-in access information at the October conferences. If you don’t remember your login/password information, please contact your school secretary to obtain this information.
Once in Family Access, click on the Skylert link on the left menu. In the upper box titled “My Skyward Contact Info” you will see the contact information you provided in the verification process. Please be sure that the phone numbers and email addresses are correct, and make any changes that are necessary. Any changes automatically update the information contained in your student’s Skyward record. The phone numbers provided in this contact area will only receive phone calls, not text messages.
You will also see 5 columns to the right that list the types of notifications you can receive:

  • School Hours Emergency – for events that happen when school is in session, such as early closings due to inclement weather or other emergencies.

  • Attendance – Our schools are not using this feature. If a student has not been called in absent a phone is made to families from the school office.

  • General – for informational purposes only, these notifications will reference various district or school events and information such as a reminder about parent-teacher conferences.

  • Non-School Hours Emergency – for events that happen when school is not in session, such as school closings due to overnight inclement weather.

• Survey - not using at this time.

Skyward Mobile Phone Access

Using the Skyward mobile app, families can view student information from a smartphone. This app can be downloaded from iTunes, Amazon app store or Google app store.

To make changes to student information and/or schedule conferences in Skyward from your phone, you need to use a web browser instead of the app. For example, if you have an iPhone that comes with the Safari browser by default, you can use that to get to the Cameron School homepage (www.cameron.k12.wi.us) to access Family Access. Once on the web page choose Families, then Skyward and it will take you to the log-in page. Once you login, you will be able to make changes just like if you were on a computer. Contact your students’ school office if you need your username and password.

Makeup Days

Due to cancellations, school will be in session for all students on Monday, April 21st and June 6th. In the event of any further cancellations, days will be added beyond June 6th. Teachers' final work day is currently scheduled for Monday, June 9th.
